Incinerator - Unsustainable Cities? the on-line 2014 RGS Exhibition
Ardley is a small village in Oxfordshire close to the M40. For a long while the local people lobbied to get the landfill site next to their village closed. At last their calls were answered. But, on the same site this incinerator was built. Local objections were overruled, and this image shows the last days of the landfill site, just before the incinerator was opened. Its 90metre towers are designed to put the dioxins way up in the air. Out of sight, out of mind?
